Pastor James Edward Holiday is a native of Norway, South Carolina, a small rural town in Orangeburg County.  He is the son of Martha Holiday Lindsey and the late Frank Kearse.  He was reared by his maternal grandparents the late Mr. and Mrs. William (Revie) Holiday. 

He attended the public schools of Orangeburg School District One.  He is a graduate of Hunter-Kinard-Tyler High School.  He is also a graduate of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy; has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice from Claflin University and a Master of Arts degree in Religion (Church Ministries) from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and is presently pursuing the Master of Divinity (Pastoral Preaching) from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia. 

He is a member of and the proud pastor of Bushy Pond Missionary Baptist Church where he has served for over twenty years and is the past Moderator of the Beaver Creek Baptist Missionary Church Union.  Pastor Holiday is employed and has been for over 27 years at Savannah River Site with Wackenhut Services, Inc. as a Class One Law Enforcement Officer.  He is active in civic, community and fraternal activities.  He is a member and/or holds office in the following:  Life Member of the NAACP; Member of Delta Zeta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Pastor Holiday is married to Sybrenda James Holiday, and through this union they are blessed to have three children:  James Wilton, Brenton Roosevelt and Emily Brendelin Reva Holiday. God’s continued blessings continued with two precious grandchildren, Cameron Jeremiah and Nylah Brielle. They also have 4 god-daughters: Ineca Jefferson, Jermijah Derricott, Emoni Simmons and Aniyah Franklin.  The Holidays reside in Williston, South Carolina.

He loves the Lord with all his heart.  When asked what he likes to do “best”, he’ll respond, “PREACH”.  His favorite scripture is Romans 8:28, “and we know that all things work together for good to them who love God and are called according to His purpose.”
